Sometimes after pondering all these assessments about the younger generation and Christianity in America I am left feeling a bit discouraged…..you too? Well, here’s a blog post I came across yesterday from a 28 year old pondering how an Andy Stanley address (Power and What to Do With It) at the last Catalyst Conference applies to her circumstances.
This blogger recently adopted a newborn (headed to foster care) and within a few months followed her husband from Indiana to Florida leaving all her friends behind. Her husband’s surgery residency at U of F consumes 85-90 hours a week. She’s really alone. It’s reassuring to know God is still powerfully at work and His grace is sufficient for all challenges. It’s a bit long, maybe a 3-4 minute read, but Andy Stanley’s message is a powerful one and it’s an encouraging and thought provoking story.
Take a look at the post…..it just may encourage your day.
Oh by the way….she’s my oldest daughter

What I was looking for were the encouraging words and the blessing from the father….good job Dad
Hey Kim,
Thanks for joining in. It seems this time the daughter had the encouraging words and sure blessed her dads day.
It continues to reassure my faith to see God take our kids so much farther than we could have ever taken them ourselves.
He is so good

Hey dad, my first time on your blog. =o) I’ll link it to mine for sure. I really enjoyed the Easter post, thanks. Also, Luca’s dad was MIA but his mom would be sad to read the word “deserted” I think. She really wanted the best life possible for him and knew she couldn’t give it to him. I just thought I would mention that since the word hit me as strong.
I love you daddy,
Ann
